Gardening’s the new Gym!
What an exceptional year we’re having – both in terms of Covid-19, VE Day, and not forgetting the amazing spell of good weather!
On the plus side it means that avid gardeners have had even more time to spend with their beloved hobby; those not so keen may have been cajoled into giving it a go; and others discovered that actually it does have some merits - with the result that our gardens have never had it so good - productively or florally. Sadly - as we do not yet know when the Villages Hall will re-open (and even then what restrictions will have to be in place because of "social distancing"), we have had to cancel events for the foreseeable future, including the Spring Show, our AGM, Open Gardens in June, and also the Club meetings scheduled for June and July. We have also just heard from Adrian James that our proposed garden visit on 22nd July to Langdale, Offenham is also cancelled. We’re sorry to say that this year's Summer Show is also in doubt. However the Committee will be meeting again in June and a decision will be made then either to cancel completely or defer to perhaps September. The AGM too may be deferred to later in the year, but again we’ll let you know in good time. We do post fairly regularly on the village Facebook, and try to keep our website up to date so please check if you can. |
